The celebration of Prof. Dr. Virapong Prachayasittikul who had established the benefaction of Medical Technology profession.
On 23thSeptember 2015, the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University has held the banquet to express our warm gratitude to Prof. Dr. Virapong Prachayasittikul who had established the benefaction of Faculty of Medical Technology. In the executive level, he took a position of the four-term as the dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, the vice president of Mahidol University for the intensive process and policy and planning, and the committee of the Mahidol University Council. Moreover, in administrative national level he was the Subcommittee Secretary Administrative of the Tha-Chin river basin management, and the consultant and President of the Medical Technology Council. In international level, he was the President-Elect of ASEAN Association of Schools of Medical Technology (AASMT). In 1995, Prof. Dr. Virapong Prachayasittikul established the doctorate program in medical technology in the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University, which is the first program in Thailand as well as South East Asia, then he took the innovation education to create graduate students who have more potential (well-rounded scholar) for Faculty of Medical Technology with an intention to enhance graduate students’ attitude and conscious mind to expand role of profession on responsibility from inside the hospital to health promotion of community and society by having a characteristic of “Smart in Lab, Strong in Community” through the Competency-based modularization process. His performance was appeared in medical technology profession, and has been nationally and internationally recognized. Thereby, the Faculty of Medical Technology organized the sign-opening ceremony of Prof. Dr. Virapong Prachayasittikul auditorium on the 2nd floor for dignity and memorable his benefaction for Medical Technology profession and to be leadership in the South East Asia region. The event took place at the Science and Medical Technology Building, Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University. Salaya campus.
