World Rabies Day 2011
On September 24, 2011, Faculty of Medical Technology joins the celebration of "World Rabies Day 201" that Mahidol hosts this year at Mahidol Learning Center. Activities from diverse institutes and faculties of Mahidol include animation campaign on rabies, essay contest on rabies, seminar on rabies, etc. The campaign activities aim to raise public awareness of the disease. WHO has found that approximately 55,000 poeple around the world are infected (2007). In Thailand, the fatal rate has reduced from 370 rabies deaths in 1980 to 8-26 deaths a year in 2004-2009. WHO has set a goal to eliminate rabies by 2020. (Information from Thai News Agency)
